Shugarts, McGuffie to see Sooners

The "Sam and J.B. Show" hits this road this weekend and the first stop is the University of Oklahoma junior day.
Sam McGuffie of Cy Fair is catching a ride with the top junior offensive tackle J.B. Shugarts to the Sooner campus, which could make for a hilarious eight-hour ride.

"J.B. and I are the same person," McGuffie said with a laugh. "We have the same personality, except he's big and strong and I'm smaller and fast. I'd love to end up playing with him in college. I wish I could run behind him next season."
Nicknamed "My Space" by buddy Damian Square of Houston Yates High School, McGuffie is the hub of information between several of Houston's top players. He and Shugarts text and trade calls quite a bit.
"He tells me what coaches came by to see him and then I do the same," McGuffie said.
That would be a lot of texting seeing that coaches from Ohio State, Michigan, Florida and Oklahoma make regular visits to Shugarts and Texas A&M, Michigan, Florida and Texas Tech have passed through Cy Fair.
"Hey, I get a lot of calls from those Yates' guys singing the Texas A&M fight song," McGuffie said. "They are trying hard to get me to commit. I'm still a ways away from committing.
"I really need to see some more schools."
