Shrine Bowl of Carolinas tryouts: Top performers

Recruiting wrap: Georgia, North Carolina, N.C. State and Virginia Tech are Deablo's top four.
Performance: Deablo has come a long way since this time last year. He can cover a lot more ground and has gotten taller. That added length and more consistent hands has made Deablo a game-breaking receiver that can be effective all over the field.

QB
Austin Kendall
Waxhaw (N.C.) Cuthbertson
Recruiting wrap: Kendall is committed to Oklahoma.
Performance: Kendall's accuracy and timing made everything the receivers were doing look effortless. One of the main reasons for his accuracy is his footwork. Kendall showed that he can put touch on his passes or rifle the ball into a tight window. During seven-on-seven play, Kendall did a good job of quickly reading the defense and finding the open receiver.
4
QB
Chazz Surratt
Denver (N.C.) East Lincoln
Recruiting wrap: Surratt is committed to North Carolina.
Performance: Where Kendall is more of a surgeon, Surratt is kind of a gunslinger. The lefty has a big-time arm and is very good a throwing on the run. Surratt isn't afraid to let it fly if there is tight coverage but he also showed the ability to make the correct reads to get the ball to the open man.
5
DE
Nick Coe
Asheboro, N.C.
Recruiting wrap: Coe has a top three of North Carolina, Virginia Tech and Auburn.
Performance: The linemen play was a little watered down but it was easy to see that Coe was far and away the most talented defensive lineman in attendance. His patented inside rip move was very effective and he is getting better at rushing to the outside. Coe has gotten stronger and stood up well at the point of attack.
6
RB
Jordon Brown
Durham (N.C.) Southern Durham
Recruiting wrap: Brown is visiting Wake Forest and North Carolina this week.
Performance: Brown is electric with the ball in his hands and when he gets into the open field there isn't a linebacker or defensive back that can stop him. He is an excellent receiver out of the backfield and the quarterbacks did a good job of finding Brown downfield or on a check down. Brown is an ideal third-down running back and is a major threat in the passing game.
7
DE
Emmanuel Ukhueligbe
Fayetteville (N.C.) Seventy-First
Recruiting wrap: Ukhueligbe is still waiting on his first major offer.
Performance: Ukhueligbe came out of nowhere and was dominant at times during run game installation and linemen one-on-ones. He has supreme strength and surprised many offensive linemen with quick rip-and-swim moves. Ukhueligbe did a good job of holding his ground and shooting gaps against the run.
8
RB
Tre Harbison
Shelby (N.C.) Crest
Recruiting wrap: Harbison is committed to Virginia.
Performance: Harbison is a big, powerful running back that has some burst. He showed his strength during the running game installation but proved that he can be an asset in the passing game, too. Quarterbacks were able to find Harbison on seam routes down the field and in the flat.
