GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas -- The Dallas Showtyme Elite Football Camp kicked off Tuesday afternoon at the Gopher Bowl and there were several top talents who made their way to camp. There was plenty of recruiting news to be had. Here are a few notes on some of the top prospects who made their way here.

Jean Delance
Mesquite (Tex.) North Mesquite Rivals250 offensive tackle Jean Delance named a top nine in the spring of Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Michigan, Florida State, Ohio State, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC. Now his plan is to narrow his list even further.
"Definitely getting my list down to my top five, top four schools I'm really interested in and building a real true relationship with all these coaches and see who's really true and honest with me," Delance said. "Now it's just getting to build relationships."
He is not ready to name leaders among his top nine schools. However, he was able to meet Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday and the new Wolverine head coach left a strong impression.
"Everybody is kind of on that same page," Delance said. "But Coach Harbaugh, he's a great personality, he's a great head coach, and probably one of the best I've talked to since my recruiting process (began)."
He hopes to visit USC and then LSU and Texas A&M.
Delance wants to have his list narrowed to four or five by September. He plans to make his decision in October or November at the earliest and announce at the All-American game.
Rio Rancho (N.M.) offensive tackle Grant Hermanns holds offers from Iowa State, Kansas, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Arizona, San Diego State, Texas Tech, and Washington State, and he was at the Dallas Showtyme Elite Camp hoping to turn a few heads with coaches from Michigan and USC in attendance.
Next up for Hermanns is a trip to Oklahoma for the Sooners camp and he hopes to visit Texas A&M. He has already visited Florida and he continues to hear from the Gators, along with Oregon, Oklahoma, and Michigan.
Even though Oregon, Oklahoma, and Florida have not offered, they are each high on his list. The schools showing the most interest right now are Texas Tech, Iowa State, and Oregon.
He plans to make his decision in September and the big factor for him is going to be the coaching staff. Assistant coach Lee Hays and head coach Kliff Kingsbury of Texas Tech have already made a strong impression. Florida assistant Mike Summers and Oregon assistant Joe Bernardi, plus coaches from Iowa State, Oklahoma, and Kansas have all caught his attention.
A new name to watch is Justin (Tex.) Northwest 2018 offensive tackle Darrell Simpson. He is 6-foot-7 and 320 pounds and Kansas offered him a scholarship in May. He showed why so many schools are already extremely interested.
Maydens continue to turn heads
Jared Mayden
College coaches have become very familiar with the Mayden family from Sachse, Texas. Rivals250 cornerback Jared Mayden is closing in on his decision, while younger brother Jalen Mayden, a 2018 quarterback, is seeing his recruiting process begin to take off.
Jalen Mayden already holds scholarship offers from Oregon State, Syracuse and Houston and he is hitting the camp circuit this summer.
Jared Mayden is preparing to narrow his list to a top nine on June 24.
Alabama, Michigan, Ohio State, and Oregon are four teams he feels comfortable saying will make his narrowed list. He plans to visit Florida, Florida State, and Miami in June and he plans to make his decision at the Opening in July. He could also visit UCLA in June.
Benjamin gives three an edge
Eno Benjamin
Before naming his top three, Wylie East 2017 running back Eno Benjamin said all his schools were about even. However, he did give an edge to SMU, Miami, and Texas Tech.
He has visited Texas Tech and SMU, and he wants to visit Miami. He attended camp at Baylor, and visited Alabama, North Carolina, and Wake Forest. He plans to graduate high school early and enroll at the school of his choice in January.
Robinson planning early decision
Shawn Robinson
Denton (Tex.) Guyer 2017 Rivals100 quarterback Shawn Robinson plans to visit USC in a couple of weeks and he would also like to visit Ole Miss and Auburn. He also plans to visit Texas schools TCU, Baylor, and Texas.
He is keeping an open mind right now, but if he knows where he wants to go, he would like to make a decision before his junior season.
Cuffee sorting through options
Eric Cuffee
Waco (Tex.) cornerback Eric Cuffee did not name a leader, but he does plan to narrow his list at the Opening. He is deciding whether he wants to narrow his list to 10 or 13, but right now he is not ready to give any hints on who will make the list.
He plans to visit Notre Dame on June 19, then USC, then the Opening, and then Florida, and LSU.
He has not decided whether or not he wants to announce his decision before the season or at the Under Armour All-American game.
Two on top for Thornton
Rahssan Thornton
Killeen (Tex.) Shoemaker defensive end Rahssan Thornton has LSU and Michigan at the top of his list. He hopes to visit Michigan soon and he visited LSU at the end of May.
Other programs are also in consideration for Thornton. He plans to attend TCU's camp on Friday and Texas' camp on Sunday.
