Sherry to consider other options

Nick Sherry isn't sure about the Colorado coaching situation at this point so the Petaluma (Calif.) Casa Grande pro-style quarterback who committed to the Buffaloes in June said he's close to de-committing and has already begun considering other options.
Sherry said Sunday night that he's received confirmation that Colorado's new staff does not plan to honor his scholarship so he will move forward with his other plans.

"I don't really know what's happening right now," Sherry said of Colorado. "It seems a little shaky over there and I'm keeping my options open and keeping up interest with other schools.
"As of right now, I probably don't see myself going to Colorado anymore just because of the whole situation. I'm keeping my other options open and looking at other schools.
"It's almost to the de-commitment point. It depends on what the situation is and I've kind of opened up my interest to other schools and I'm talking to other schools heavily now."
Sherry, who threw for 2,623 yards with 25 touchdowns and six interceptions in his senior season, has already taken visits to Arizona and Washington and both Pac-10 schools have offered. San Diego State and San Jose State are also involved.
"I'm talking heavily to them and seeing what's going on and how I fit into their programs," Sherry said. "I might have to take some more visits and do some other stuff."
Because Sherry, a 6-foot-4, 211-pound three-star prospect by Rivals.com, committed during the summer many programs have backed off him and offered other prospects.
Arizona and Washington are chasing other recruits but now Sherry is also in the mix so he's taking some time to figure out which situation would be best suitable to him. Other teams could also get involved as Sherry opens up his recruitment even further.
"Since I went to Colorado I kind of closed my doors and then I told them I wasn't going to go to Arizona or Washington and they offered some other people," Sherry said.
"I'm talking to (those schools) more but we're going to see what's going to happen because I told them I was going to stay committed but now it's the opposite. We don't know what's going to happen right now. We're just going with the wind."
