Sherit set to narrow it down

BRADENTON, Fla. - Four-star defensive end Jordan Sherit has nearly three dozen offers and has struggled to whittle them down during the process, but is getting close to unveiling a top ten.
"I kind of have a top ten going but I can't do it off the top of my head," Sherit said. "I will probably put it out this week at some point. I have got it started though and I am trying to break it down."

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound defender from Tampa (Fla.) Hillsborough mentioned a few schools likely to make the cut.
"In the top ten I would say Stanford, Florida, Vanderbilt, Miami, Notre Dame already have spots," Sherit said. "I don't know if I could separate them and say anyone is doing better than anyone else because I haven't seen all of the schools. That is my thing, I want to go out and see some places.
"If I told you a leader right now, it would probably change by next week," Sherit added. "It is just an up-and-down process, but I am enjoying it."
Sherit has visited Florida and South Florida this summer. He plans to see Florida State in July and Miami in August. As for additional visits, those may have to wait until the season.
"I don't know how many more places I will be able to visit over the summer but then I will plan officials and do those things," Sherit said. "My officials will be part of the process because some of the schools I am going to have in my top ten are ones that I haven't been to and I want to take my official visits to. I am going to try to get out and see those places before I make a final decision."
The Rivals100 prospect talked about the reason why his visits are so important in making his decision.
"I believe that if you are making a decision on not going somewhere, that you should at least check it out and make the decision for yourself," Sherit said.
With regards to making that decision, Sherit says if it is clear to him that he has found his future home that he won't take any more time.
"If I take a visit and know where I want to go, then I would cut it short then," Sherit said. "Hopefully in the fall, that is when I will know. I want to be done with this as soon as possible and that would be ideal, but like I said official visits will probably have to be taken."
At the IMG 7-on-7 National Championship, Sherit is working at outside linebacker for Team Tampa.
