Shelton names top three

After seeing most of the top defensive ends in the West region this spring, it's very safe to say one of the elite players at the position next year will be Compton (Calif.) Dominguez' Michael Shelton . Shelton currently has five offers and said three schools stand out right now.
Shelton, 6-3, 220 pounds had a strong showing at the SoCal Nike Camp where he was rated one of the top three defensive linemen in the camp. He's a very impressive looking speed rusher and was dominant in the one on one drills. Shelton has a thin frame but is fairly broad shouldered and shouldn't have a problem putting on weight for college.

"I have offers right now from Oregon, Oregon State, Washington, San Diego State and Arizona," Shelton said. "My top three would be Oregon State, Washington and Arizona. USC is my childhood favorite but I'm not hearing much from them right now. I'm going to camp with them at the end of this month and if they ever offered me, they would be my favorite but for now, I like Oregon State as my top choice."
As a junior, Shelton totaled 72 tackles and 13 quarterback sacks to earn all-league and all-area honors. Academically he's carrying a 2.8 GPA and will take the SAT later in the year.
