Sheller still solid with the Bruins

UCLA has done a very nice job recruiting the offensive line this year and one of the teams first commitments came from Walnut (Calif.) standout Sean Sheller. Despite his early commitment, schools have not backed off Sheller but his commitment continues to look rock solid.
Sheller, 6-5, 260 pounds was the top rated offensive lineman at the SoCal Nike camp and looks like a prototype left tackle prospect. He's very athletic and light on his feet. Sheller stoned just about everyone he went up against at the Nike camp and as good as he is now, he's not close to being a finished product as he still has a ways to go before his fills out. Once Sheller gets into a college weight room and starts putting on some serious size and adding strength, he has a chance to be special.

"Our team has struggled this year," Sheller said. "We have a lot of young players and could never put things together. It was tough but I played as hard as I could and feel I had a good season overall."
We talked to the coach of one of the teams who played Walnut this year and he told us he felt Sheller was the best lineman they played against all year. Sheller committed to the Bruins back in April saying it was his dream school and where he had always wanted to go. Shortly after, offers came in from Cal and Arizona State and the Bears are still actively recruiting Sheller among others.
"Yeah, Cal wants me to visit pretty bad but I don't know about that," Sheller said. "I kind of want to take the visit just to take the visit and have fun but I'm 100% committed to UCLA and wouldn't do anything without getting the OK from Coach Cable first. If he says it's OK, I might go ahead and do it but I'm definitely a Bruin and there is really no chance I would go anywhere else."
Although Sheller's season is over, he will make one last appearance on the football field when he lines up for the CA squad in the CaliFlorida Bowl on December 31.
