Sheffield to announce choice at UA game

Missouri City (Texas) Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Kendall Sheffield has brought the spotlight to his high school over the years. Junior Olympian track star and a Rivals100 four-star cornerback only scratches the surface when talking about Sheffield's achievements, and Tuesday he added another prestigious honor when he was presented as an Under Armour All-American.

"It's such a huge honor and something I have always strived for," the 5-foot-11, 183-pound Sheffield said. "Being acknowledged as one of the best players in the country and getting to compete against the best is amazing."
Sheffield is a veteran of the camp circuit, competing at elite camps such as the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge Presented by Under Armour, but the Under Armour All-American Game will end a little differently.
"I will announce where I am going [to college] at halftime during the game," he said. "I probably want do hats. I will probably just pull out a pair of gloves from my bag. Right now, I am still open to all schools."
Even though Sheffield is still open, Texas A&M and LSU have always been high on his list and are making a strong late push.
"I was in Baton Rouge for the LSU-Alabama game two weekends back," said Sheffield. "It was my third time to the campus, but it was my first time to be in Death Valley for a night game. It was an amazing atmosphere. I went with my dad and brother, and they both thought so too."
The season is winding down, but Sheffield is not done with visits just yet.
"I will be in Alabama for the Iron Bowl, and I am going to be in College Station for the Texas A&M-LSU game," he said. "I just want to see how the cornerbacks play, watch their footwork and skills out there."
