Sheffield checks out SoCal

Rivals100 cornerback Kendall Sheffield has been busy on the road and this weekend saw him head to Los Angeles for an official visit to USC.
The trip to USC was his second official visit with his first being to Ohio State on September 26, and he enjoyed his stay in Los Angeles with coach Sarkisian and the USC staff.

"It was a good trip. I had fun," Sheffield said. "I got to look at the academics. I talked to the track coach. I talked to the head coach a couple of times. It was a good trip."
Football is an important aspect of his choice, but academics are also high on his list and a big priority. USC made sure to let him know of the opportunities they presented.
"I talked to them about sports management," Sheffield said. "They talked about how I could do things in sports management globally."
Track is also an important aspect of his college choice. Sheffield is world class hurdler and claimed the State Championships in both the 110m and 300m hurdles as a junior. A significant portion of his visit was spent with the Trojan track coaches.
"The track coach came to dinner with us," Sheffield said. "We just talked a lot about track and how she could improve me in the hurdles and make me faster."
Of course, football was a big aspect of the trip and Sheffield made sure to soak in the gameday surroundings of the Coliseum.
"It was a great atmosphere," Sheffield said. "The stands were live as usual and it was a good game."
Sheffield plans to take an unofficial visit to Texas A&M next weekend as the Aggies host Ole Miss, and he also has plans to take official visits to Florida State, Oregon, and Alabama.
He continues to keep his options open and he plans to announce his decision at the Under Armour All-American game.
"It's been fun going through the process," Sheffield said. "I'm just weighing my options right now."
Sheffield is currently ranked No. 43 in the Rivals100, No. 5 among the nation's 2015 cornerbacks, and No. 5 in the Rivals.com Texas Preseason Top 100 for 2015.
