Shaw eyeing Boise State, Wazzu visits
Derriyon Shaw took his first official visit last weekend and has his sights set on two others before possibly sitting down to make a choice.
The strongside defensive end from Las Vegas (Nev.) Legacy made a stop at in-state Nevada and liked what he saw despite a loss to Arizona. The Wolf Pack have been recruiting Shaw heavily since he arrived from Georgia in the spring, and the 6-foot-4, 225-pound prospect said Boise State, UNLV and Washington State are also on him hard.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Shaw has locked in a trip to Boise State for the weekend of Oct. 3 to see the Broncos take on Hawaii and the athletic pass rusher is also in the process of setting a date for a visit to Wazzu. He has been hearing from Arizona State, too, and that could potentially be a place he sees before he makes a decision.
IN HIS WORDS: "The Nevada visit went really, really well," Shaw told Rivals.com. "I loved it there. The next one will be to Boise and I'm just looking forward to seeing and getting a feel for the school and the environment.
"I'm hoping to make a decision probably some time in late October. I don't have any other visits set. Washington State is in the works. That could be soon, probably in the next two weeks."
RIVALS' REACTION: Shaw saw his recruitment pick up steadily since transferring to Legacy from the other side of the country, and he's off to a good start in his senior season, highlighted by a nine-tackle, three-sack performance a couple weeks ago. He has several options in front of him now and Shaw admitted the visits figure to play a major factor in his process.
