Shaughnessy has two new offers

Defensive end Matt Shaughnessy just got back from a tour of several Big Ten schools and has two new offers in hand. Which schools are the latest to put scholarships on the table?
"Michigan State and Purdue both offered me," said Shaughnessy. "I'm pretty interested in both of them so I'll study up on them even more now. I also visited Wisconsin and Iowa. Wisconsin has offered but Iowa hasn't. I'd say Iowa is pretty low on my list, since I'm hoping to make my decision before too long."

What other schools is the 6-foot-6, 210-pound defensive end from Norwich (Conn.) Norwich Free Academy interested in?
"Of course I'm interested in UConn, since they've been recruiting me for a while and they're right here close to home. I'm also looking at Penn State. I have a lot of respect for their program and I always have."
Shaughnessy doesn't plan on waiting too long to make his decision.
"I'd like to have a decision made by midseason," he said. "I'm not ready to make it yet, and I'll still probably schedule a few official visits. But I don't want to draw this out into something that goes on for months and months."
