Sharpe looks like elite RB

There wasn't a better looking player at the NIKE Combine in Phoenix two weeks ago than Las Vegas (Nev.) Sierra Vista running back Akil Sharp. Sharpe had the top SPARQ rating at the combine and looks like a high Div I prospect.
Sharpe measured in at a rock solid 5-10, 191 pounds, clocked a 4.55-40, 4.44 in the shuttle, threw the power ball 32' and jumped 41 inches in the vertical. His 103.0 SPARQ Rating was best in the camp and will be among the best running backs we test this year.

"I thought I did OK," Sharp said. "Coming out for the combine, I just wanted to do my best. I didn't have any goals or anything except to do the best I could.
"I've been training really hard, working out every day. You have to really push yourself, athletically and academically, and that's what I've been doing."
As a junior, Sharp rushed for 1,255 yards and eight touchdowns and shows well on film. He has a nice combination of speed and power, is a downhill runner who would rather run over a defender than dance around him.
"I wasn't really healthy last year so my numbers weren't that great," Sharp said. "I had a sprained MCL and then pulled my hamstring and it affected me the last five games."
On the recruiting front, Sharp said he's still waiting for his first offer but he is hearing from a host of schools.
"I think I could be close to getting my first offer," Sharp said. "Right now, I'm hearing the most from Stanford, Duke, Princeton, Clemson, Oregon, LSU, Virginia , Vandy and Purdue.
"My top schools are UCLA, Cal, Stanford and USC. Education (4.2 GPA) is very important to me and that will play a big role in my college choice."
