Shankle nearing a decision

Norwood (N.C.) South Stanly cornerback Terry Shankle is as talented as just about any prospect in the nation at his position and the four-star prospect is almost ready to make his decision.
After months of comparing schools and trimming his list, the 5-foot-10, 167-pound corner has narrowed things down to three schools and one of them is a clear leader.

"Right now UNC is my leader," Shankle said. "I've just felt most comfortable there. I like the relationship between the coaches and the players and I feel like I could be successful there. I was there last for the Notre Dame game and that went well. They said they like me a lot and they were telling me about how much I could help them.
"I'm supposed to go visit NC State before I make my decision final, though. I'm going to their game this Saturday against Wake Forest. It would probably take a lot for me to change my mind."
In addition to North Carolina and NC State, Shankle said he is still somewhat open to Tennessee, though the coaching situation has left a bad taste in his mouth.
"Yeah, Tennessee is still on the list," he said. "The last time I was there was for the UAB game. I'm kind of shaky with the coaching situation, though. UNC is at the top."
Shankle is ranked the No. 14 cornerback Rivals.com and is listed as the corner with the best ball skills in the nation.
