Shankle looks to choose between two

Lufkin (Texas) all-purpose back and defensive back E.J. Shankle is on the verge of a decision within weeks.
Apparently, after an LSU visit his No. 1 and No. 2 are very clear. With the Tigers leading, Texas A&M is just behind them in second but if an upcoming visit takes place it could change that.

"LSU is the top school and I've visited them so that's really the reason," Shankle said. "Really, it's a close race between them and A&M."
According to Shankle, his time frame on a decision is getting very close.
"Yeah, hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll know and I can just get it out of the way," Shankle said. "I'm going to look real hard at both schools over those next few weeks and make the pick."
Shankle also says that position choice is also a factor. While both schools want the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect at wide receiver or defensive back, LSU has also mentioned the running back spot.
"I'd really like to play wide receiver or defensive back, but I wouldn't mind playing running back," he said. "It's really about where I can play the earliest. I think LSU gives me that maybe a little more."
Though it appears there are only two schools in the running for his services, he is not completely shutting the door on the others.
"I haven't pushed any schools aside, but those are just my top schools," he said. "I really haven't talked to the other coaches but I'm going to try and do that. You never know, it might change then."
