Shamarko Thomas changes his pick

Following a visit this past weekend, Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes safety Shamarko Thomas changed his pick. Where is the 5-foot-11, 192-pounder headed?
"I committed to Syracuse today," Thomas said. "I love the players and everybody on the entire staff. They constantly wrote me and I like the new coaches. I think things are going to change and I want to be part of that change."

Thomas went further into his visit on why he picked the Orangemen.
"It was a great trip," he said. "They took me around to the business classes and communications classes. I hung out with the players and they told me that I can come in and compete for a starting position. They also said how the coaches are there for you.
"I really like Coach Marrone. I think the entire staff is going to do better. They stay real with you and allow you to compete. Other schools will just say you're going to start, but they are realistic.
"As I said, I like Coach Marrone. He's a truthful man and won't lie to you. He told me he'll be there until I graduate."
Thomas was confident with his choice and confirmed he is done with the process.
He picked Syracuse over a previous pledge to Louisville and offers from Marshall, Old Dominion and Richmond.
