Shreveport (La.) Calvary Academy three-star standout Shun Brown has had a list of strong summer performances. He was among the top defensive backs at the Prime 21 Camp, he showed very strong at Mississippi State's Big Dawg Camp, and he put together another solid performance at LSU's late July camp.
Brown recently named Mississippi State and Arizona his top two programs with Pittsburgh coming in right behind them in his top three. However, there has been a bit of a shake-up.
Following Mississippi State's Big Dawg camp, Brown thought seriously about a future in Starkville, but the Bulldogs do not have room for him at this time. Now, the Arizona Wildcats take the lead.
"I think I like the school. Coach Magee, the offensive coordinator, he's been my recruiting coach and they sound like good people," Brown said. "He's always talking about we need to get you down here, you and Orlando (Bradford). I just have to get down there and see how it is before I just commit to them."
In addition to Arizona and Pitt, Brown continues to receive interest from ULM, Tulsa, and Southern Miss. Mississippi State is also a school Brown would still be willing to consider if their situation changes and a spot re-opens.
Brown plans to graduate in December and enroll at his school of choice in January.
As a junior, he recorded 32 tackles and an interception, while grabbing 47 receptions for 1,031 yards and 14 touchdowns. He earned First-Team 2A All-State as a return specialist and he was named honorable mention for his work at wide receiver. He averaged over 27 yards a return on 17 kickoff returns.
Brown is currently ranked No. 42 in the Rivals.com Louisiana Preseason Top 50.
