Severin ready for another Big Ten visit

Four-star athlete Canaan Severin of Worcester (Mass.) Academy has had the opportunity to visit several schools recently, including Penn State earlier this month. Today he will continue that busy schedule as he visits another Big Ten program.
"Recruiting has moved along very well," said Severin. "I've gone on a lot of visits this month."

So far this month, Severin has already taken visits to Virginia, N.C. State and Penn State.
"All of those schools are great academic schools and the legacy behind the schools are prestigious as well," said Severin.
Up next for Severin is a visit to Iowa today.
"I've only heard good things about Iowa," said Severin. "I've heard good things about the football program, their coaches and just the people in Iowa. Coach Ferentz and Coach O'Keefe, the offensive coordinator, used to coach at my high school in the 80's, and they are still close with the school."
After Iowa, another visit seems to be developing.
"Miami wants me to come down for a one-day," said Severin, who is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. "After this visit I'm going to see if I am able to."
With a dozen offers, recruiting has still been hectic for Severin, as he mentioned that Boston College, UConn, Iowa, Rutgers, Syracuse, Purdue, Virginia, N.C. State, Penn State, Miami and Notre Dame have all been showing serious and consistent interest.
Severin will try to make things a little easier for himself later this summer as he hopes to trim his list of schools down to five in either July or August. The stress of the process is also making it difficult for Severin to decide when he will make a final decision.
"I'm not really sure now," said Severin. "I like the idea of choosing before your senior season, but it's a big decision and you shouldn't rush it."
