Several stand out for Baker

Cleveland (Ohio) Benedictine class of 2015 linebacker Jerome Baker has seen his offer list run to 15 schools. He is still learning about many of those schools, but several he has evaluated are already standing out.
"There are actually a few surprises," Baker said. "Georgia Tech is one of them. There's just something about Georgia Tech that has caught my attention.

"Michigan is definitely in there… it just feels like a family. Ohio State's in there, of course, and I also really like Florida with everything from the coaches to the weather."
Baker has yet to visit the southern schools, but said that trip will definitely be taken. His father has friends and relatives in Florida, and they plan to make their way down there soon.
The next visit Baker makes to Ohio State will likely be for their Friday Night Lights camp on July 26. He is also considering a visit to Michigan this summer, where he expects to officially receive his offer from the Wolverines.
"I talked to Coach [Greg] Mattison and he basically told me they like to offer in person, but I do have a scholarship," Baker said. "I do really want to go see Michigan. This summer we were talking about it, though it is kind of hard for my dad. We also talked about going in the fall to see a game."
If Baker does make a trip to Ann Arbor this summer he would like to pair that up with a visit to Michigan State. The Spartans recently offered a scholarship as have Arkansas, Penn State, Tennessee and others.
Although several schools have caught his attention early, Baker does not plan to officially narrow his list until the end of his junior year.
