Several schools in contact with Baines

East Carolina got their season off to an exciting start on Sunday with a last second Hail Mary leading to a victory over Tulsa and pushing them to 1-0 overall and in Conference USA.
That kind of momentum will help the team immensely going forward under a new head coach, and it should also help the Pirates with some of the recruits they have been in contact with.

Arguably one of the most talented prospect on their recruiting board is Ronald Baines, a 6-foot, 179-pound cornerback from Vorhees (N.J.) Eastern.
"Our season starts next Saturday and we're looking pretty strong," Baines told Rivals.com recently. "I think we're gonna have a good season but we've got a lot of teams and other coaching staffs doubting us.
"I know I've made a lot of improvement. I've been working out all offseason and I feel like that's gonna carry me through this season."
East Carolina, Memphis, Akron and Bucknell are the schools that are heavily recruiting Baines, though East Carolina is the only school to put forth an offer so far.
"[Those schools] are just coming to our games and stuff, just saying they can't wait to see me."
