Seventh offer for Johnson

Pennington (N.J.) Pennington Prep safety Dontae Johnson has watched his stock rise significantly in recent weeks, and new offers are the best evidence of that.
Louisville recently became the seventh school to offer Johnson a scholarship.

"That is correct," Johnson confirmed on Wednesday evening. "I actually talked to coach (Larry) Slade on the phone. It was the first time I've talked to him."
In fact, Slade was the first Louisville coach that Johnson has talked to altogether. Because of that, it's not surprising that he needs to learn more about the Cardinals before he can say too much about the program.
"Right now it's just another program because I don't know much about them," he said. "I'll definitely look into them, though. Hopefully I can get down there and visit the campus."
Johnson believes another school is close to extending his eighth offer of the recruiting process.
"I still think Pittsburgh is getting close, but I don't know," he said.
Johnson plans on attending a NIKE event at Penn State next weekend, but has no plans other than that.
Earlier in the weekend he said his four favorites were Maryland, Michigan State, NC State and UConn. On Wednesday he added Virginia to that list.
