Seven schools remain for Kozan

Alex Kozan has chopped his list to a top seven and while he's still open to new offers the Castle Rock (Colo.) Valor Christian offensive tackle said his list is pretty firm and now he's working on setting up official visits.
Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Iowa, LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma State made the cut for Kozan, a 6-foot-4, 295-pound prospect who's rated No. 28 at offensive tackle, No. 226 nationally and fifth in the Colorado state rankings by Rivals.com.
"There are a couple reasons I made a top seven and the first one was to narrow it down from my list of offers," Kozan said.

"The second reason was to tell some of these schools that it wasn't a realistic possibility I was going there and to let them focus on other guys. From here the top seven, a lot of these schools will be strongly considered for official visits.
"I'm still talking to a couple other schools so if they offer me I'll look into it but right now these are the seven that have already offered me and committed to me so these are the schools I'm most interested in right now."
The only official visit Kozan has solidified is a trip to Iowa for the weekend of Sept. 23 when the Hawkeyes host Louisiana-Monroe.
Getting other trips booked will be one of Kozan's focuses moving forward. He has already seen all seven of his finalists but getting a better feel during an official visit weekend is crucial.
"There is a little diversity in my list of schools," Kozan said.
"I'm not targeting one region of the country I'm most interested in. I've already made like 25 unofficial visits and I've actually been to all these schools already. These are the ones I like the most. Distance isn't really a factor in my decision so these are the schools that are the best fit for me."
Auburn and Ohio State are the two programs still showing interest that haven't offered yet and Kozan said while he likes his top seven list very much he would consider a couple additions if the Tigers or Buckeyes decided to enter the fray.
"If either one jumps in I'll assess them when the time comes but those are the two I'm looking at," Kozan said.
