Seven offers for Ga. LB

One of the top linebacker prospects from the Peach State is LeRon Furr. Furr, 6-3 and 220 pounds, is from Columbus (Ga.) Carver High School. If the name sounds familiar his brother (DeRon) was the star quarterback that led Carver High School to a state championship last season. DeRon signed with Auburn.
"DeRon has told me to sit back and enjoy this (recruiting)," Furr said. "He said not everyone is going to recruit you but you have to take advantage of the opportunity that you have. I wouldn't mind going to Auburn with him but at the same time I may want to do my own thing."

Auburn is recruiting Furr but they have not offered him a scholarship yet. But Ole Miss, Duke, UAB, Arkansas, UCF, Oklahoma State and Georgia Southern have. Right now he remains open.
"I am not sure what I will do and right now I just don't know. I have really only seen Central Florida. I went down there for a junior say. I like that campus, the program, the facilities and environment. I am going to take more visits this summer but I am just not sure where yet. Academics will be important and so will playing time and location. I would like to stay close to home."
Furr also plays alongside Jarvis Jones, one of the most coveted linebacker prospects in the nation.
"I think we compliment each other pretty well. He has my back and I have his."
