Servite Duo Gets Offers

Anaheim (Calif.) Servite has two players who are getting heavy recruiting action. Offensive lineman Ryan Kalil and wide receiver Matthew Slater received their first of many offers expected.
Kalil stands 6-foot-4, weighs 255 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.9 seconds. he is very young – Kalil just turned 16 and his best days as a football player are ahead of him. One of the things D1 schools like about Kalil is the fact he is still growing. The Kansas Jayhawks offered Kalil his first scholarship. KU was so impressed by Kalil, the Jayhawk brass said that they want to build an offensive line around him. USC, UCLA and Notre Dame are also very interested and will be by Servite next week.

Slater stands 6-foot-1, weighs 185 and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4. Slater is another fine wide receiver prospect from the Golden State and his stock is on a definite rise. The word is Slater has been offered by both UCLA and Colorado. Stanford, Cal, Notre Dame, and USC are also showing interest in Slater. In an earlier interview with Pac10Recruiting offensive coordinator Ed Drzanek said, “Matthew is a bonafide super player. Before everything is said and done, everybody is going to recruit Matthew.” He certainly has the bloodlines. . His father is former Los Angeles Ram and current Hall-of-Famer offensive lineman, Jackie Slater.
Pac10Recruiting will have more on these two very talented players from Servite and others from the same school in the very near future.
Stay tuned…
