Serra WR among best in the west

The Golden State is loaded at the wide receiver position for the season of 2002. Another wide receiver who is drawing attention from the nation’s elite programs is Devin Stearns from Gardena (Calif.) Serra.
Stearns has been very impressive at the camps that Pac10Recruiting has seen him at. He stands 6-foot-2, weighs 185 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds.

Stearns is a superb all-around athlete who stars on the hardwood and participates in track. He could end up playing on either side the ball on the collegiate level, as he is a standout defensive back, too.
Stearns has an outstanding vertical jump of 35-inches that makes him even tougher for a defensive back to deal with. He caught 30 passes for 630 yards while averaging 21 yards per catch and scored 9 touchdowns. As a defensive back, Stearns had six sacks and three picks. He was selected all-area and all-league for his junior season performance.
Stearns has what every great wide receiver has – soft hands and the ability to the ball to the house on every play. He can beat you deep and can turn a five-yard stop into a touchdown.
UCLA, USC, Michigan, Florida State, Notre Dame and Miami are just a few of the schools that are expected to show up at Serra high school this May.
Pac10Recruiting will keep informed on this rare three-year starter as the recruitment for Stearns heats up…
