Serra sleeper sees stock climb

Gardena (Calif.) Serra has three big time prospects in Da'John Harris, Anthony Boyles and Apaiata Tuihalamaka. Serra has another player that is beginning to garner looks from the D-I level in linebacker Jeremy Wicker (6-1, 202, 4.5).
"Jeremy has really played well for us," Serra coach Scott Altenberger said. "The good thing is he is getting some notice from D-I schools."

Though Wicker hasn't received any scholarship offers, yet, he is getting recruited by San Jose State, Fresno State and Oregon. All three schools have called recently.
"I haven't set any visits yet, but I'm planning on visiting San Jose State," Wicker said. "I like the way San Jose State plays defense."
"I also like the way Fresno State plays defense," Wicker said. "With Oregon I like their reputation."
Though Walker plays linebacker on the D-I level, he may end up playing strong safety on the collegiate level. He currently leads Serra in tackles with 75. He also has seven tackles for loss, three passes defended, three quarterback hurries and one sack.
Serra is another team that had to overcome injuries to make the playoffs with a 9-2 record. Wicker and his Serra teammates will take on 10-1 Oak Park this Friday Evening in the second round of the playoffs.
The only loss that Oak Park has suffered this season came at the hands of Oaks Christian.
