Sells ready for the fall

Lucas (Texas) Lovejoy 2016 three-star quarterback Bowman Sells has picked up scholarship offers from Ohio State, Clemson, and Iowa, and he has the attention of several more.
Sells attended camps at Texas and Oklahoma and his final trip of the summer was to Ohio State. While in Columbus he was able to see the campus and get familiar with the environment around the program. The trip left a strong impression.

"I actually really liked that town," Sells said. "It was a cool town. The campus was really nice. I really liked the facilities and I liked the coaches as well. Coach Herman, I talked to him a bunch so I liked him."
Sells and coach Herman quickly established a strong bond.
"I liked him a lot," Sells said. "He's a real honest guy which I liked. We get along pretty well. We got along from the start. I like him a lot and they run a similar offense to us so I would be able to jump right in and it wouldn't take too long to learn the offense."
At this point, Sells does not have any visits scheduled for the fall, but he does have a few plans on his mind.
"I was going to try and make a Clemson game," Sells said. "I don't know which one yet, but I'm going to try and make a home game there. I was going to go to an Oklahoma one and possibly Ohio State if I get a chance to as well."
He does not have any leaders when it comes to his recruiting process and he is keeping an open mind.
Right now, Sells is focused on the 2014 season. Practice has started and Lovejoy football is just around the corner.
"It's going well," Sells said. "The first week of two-a-days went well. The team is looking good offense and defense. The team is meshing well together, so it's looking good so far."
The expectations are high, and Sells and his teammates have big goals for themselves.
"Individually just staying healthy since I hurt most of last year," Sells said. "Just staying healthy and being able to stay with the team and be healthy for the whole year. As a team we really just want to focus on winning district this year and getting our pre-district games out of the way and winning those so we're confident going into district."
Sells completed 164 of 260 passes for 2,632 yards and 25 touchdowns as a freshman starter at Lovejoy. In 2013 he completed 72 of 121 passes for 1,024 yards and 13 touchdowns before suffering an injury. He is currently ranked No. 13 among the nation's 2016 pro-style quarterbacks, and No. 36 in the Rivals.com Texas Initial Top 75 for 2016.
