Second offer on the way for Kansas OL

Ottawa, Kan. offensive tackle Caleb Blakesley is close to picking up his second scholarship offer.
“I went to the Kansas State camp on Tuesday,” the 6-foot-5, 270-pound Blakesley said. “I was there for a couple sessions that day. They told me afterward they would be offering me, but they couldn’t do it while I was there at camp, but it would be coming soon.”

The scholarship offer will be the second from a Big 12 Conference school.
“I have the scholarship offer from KU. I do like K-State, but it doesn’t take away that I do like KU, too. I’m not favoring either of them right now, but they are at the top of the list.”
Blakesley’s trip to Manhattan this week was the first of three football camps.
“I will go to KU on Tuesday for one day of their camp. And I will be going to Missouri’s one day on Sunday.”
Blakesley hopes to make an early decision on a college.
“I would like to decide about the beginning of our school year. If I had to today, I wouldn’t be able to do it. I want to find where I fit the best and which place is the best place for me. There are a lot of pros and cons of both schools.”
Blakesley also is one of the best shot put throwers in the area.
“I ended up winning Class 5A shot put with a throw of 61-feet, 2-inches. It was the best throw of the year in the state and a best for me. All three of my throws in the finals were over 60-feet. A lot of the schools have talked to me about doing track as a side thing in college. I would love to throw shot in college. I want to play football first though. I haven’t looked at the track programs too close at this point, though. It has been something that the football coaches have been mentioning when we were talking.”
