Second offer arrives for three-star back

Chamblee, Ga. Running back Warren Norman is good enough to have numerous offers by now. He was one of the top performers at the Tuscaloosa Nike Camp. He led his team to the Georgia 4A semifinals as a junior showing tremendous speed and production along the way. However, it wasn't until recently that Norman picked up his first offer from Iowa State. With offer number two coming shortly thereafter, things could be picking up.
This weekend, Georgia Tech extended Norman his second scholarship offer.

"It's a great school," Norman said of the local college. "I've been going there the past couple of years checking it out at camps. It's great, close to home. We run basically the same offense, the wing-T. It's definitely a plus being close to home because I'm probably going to stay in the southeast."
Though Norman would like to stay in the southeast, his first offer came from a school that was well outside his radar.
"Iowa State kind of surprised me," he said. "I haven't really spoken to them. The first letter they ever sent me was the offer letter."
Other schools that have showed the three-star back interest have been NC State, Marshall, Vanderbilt, Duke and Miami. Now that Norman has been patient enough to get his first two offers, he hopes things don't slow down.
"It feels great getting the first offers," he said. "Right now I'm still waiting for some big ones to come in. I just have to be patient."
Norman, who runs a 10.78 in the 100 meters and is a sturdy 5-10, 191 pounds, has a few more camps in store for the summer.
"I know I'm going to Vanderbilt on the 21st of July," he said. "I'm going to camp at Ohio State. I think I'm going to Duke sometime next month. I'm going to try to get to Florida sometime too."
