SEC standout for Porchivina

John Porchivina had a nice showing at the Army National Combine in San Antonio a few weeks ago and the 2014 prospect from Petaluma (Calif.) Casa Grande hopes it pays off soon.
His recruitment has picked up with Michigan, Oregon State, Utah, Washington State and Washington showing more interest and he's excited that things could get busier this off-season.
"A lot of coaches have been coming by to talk to my head coach and my academic counselor," Porchivina said.
"I know Oregon State wants me to come up, at least to take an unofficial, and so does Washington State and I'm thinking about going to their camp this summer."
One SEC school in particular stands out and that's Ole Miss because Porchivina's brother goes to school there and the 2014 prospect has spent a good amount of time in Oxford.
The 6-foot-1, 212-pound prospect who worked out at running back at the Army Combine but who also plays linebacker said he'd like to hear a lot more from the Rebels because they'd be a serious consideration as his recruitment continues.
Since it's still so early, though, Porchivina said he's looking at all options in his recruitment.
"As of right now I'm pretty open to everything but there are big schools I definitely want to see," Porchivina said. "I want to see Ole Miss. I like Mississippi and Oregon State and Washington State, those are my top three right now.
"My brother actually goes (to Ole Miss). He's a sophomore and I've been out there a couple times and I love the campus, the feel of the town, I love how it's a big football-based school.
"It would definitely be pretty cool if I could go to school with my brother again."
