SEC standout for Humphreys

Could Tennessee swoop into Oregon and land the state's top player?
The Volunteers are making a serious push for four-star defensive end Connor Humphreys from Portland (Ore.) Central Catholic and after his visit to Knoxville it sounds like Tennessee could be the team to beat.

"I think Tennessee is one of my favorite schools," Humphreys said. "I loved the visit, I love the campus, I love the city. I just have to take more visits to see how everything else compares to Tennessee now.
"They're getting up there. With the distance it's kind of holding me back and that's why I want to see some other schools before I finally make my top five."
The 6-foot-3, 257-pound recruit who shined at the Rivals Camp Series in Los Angeles this spring has visited Tennessee and UCLA this summer and he said the trip to Knoxville definitely stood out more.
Later this month from July 26-29, Humphreys will visit Arizona, Arizona State and Wisconsin and then he should be ready to finalize his handful of favorites. Those will probably be his final trips before the start of his senior season.
The Portland Central Catholic standout said his commitment could come sometime in August after he's finished with all his unofficial trips.
"I think after I make those final three visits I'll have my five favorites and I'm sure a few of those schools will be in the five but I'm not finally set with the top five yet," Humphreys said.
"I'm sure after I take those I'll have my top five and I'll be ready to commit sometime in August."
