Favorite Schools: Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Clemson, North Carolina
Skinny: Memphis (Tenn.) Melrose coach Kedrick Ingram says Corey Kizer is exactly what scouts like to see when seeking a prototype wide receiver.
“He’s got all the tools,” Ingram said. “He’s tall, fast, has great hands, runs good routes. He plays physical. That’s something we really like about him, but after he catches the ball and tucks it away, he runs like a small receiver. He’s got some really nice moves in the open field.”
Kizer hauled in 27 passes for 800 yards and six touchdowns as a junior. He’s expected to play a much bigger role in the offense this coming season.
“He’s a big weapon,” Ingram said. “We’ve got to get the ball in his hands more often.”
Schools showing early interest in Kizer include Tennessee, Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Clemson, Georgia Tech and North Carolina.
“He doesn’t have an offer at this point, but I think he’s going to have several by the end of spring and sometime this summer,” Ingram said.
Academically, Kizer maintains a 2.5 GPA and is scheduled to take his test later this month. Ingram said he expects him to be a full-qualifier.
