SEC school joins the Dace race

It's been a good week so far for Wheaton South offensive tackle prospect Dace Richardson (6-foot-6, 300 pounds). On Monday, Richardson was named to the early Rivals100.com Top 100 team, then today Richardson learned that he's received an offer from the University of Kentucky.
"According to my coach (Ron Muhitch) the coaches from Kentucky called him today and told him that they are making me an offer, and that the paperwork is being sent to me via Fed Ex. I should have the paperwork tomorrow morning," Dace Richardson said. "I'm pretty excited about all of the offers and interest that I've received so far, and to be able to start to draw interest outside of the Big Ten is pretty exciting. I really respect SEC football and I'm learning a lot more about Kentucky football over the last few weeks."

So when making his final decision on a school, will Richardson want to stay closer to home like so many prospects in the Midwest have done in the past? "Actually, a lot of people don't know that I was born and raised in California, just outside of Van Nyes. I lived there until the 6th grade, and I have alot of family in California. I'm more than willing to travel away from home if a school seems to be the right situation for me. I'm just enjoying the early interest, and I'll take a look at all of the schools recruiting me regardless of the location and we'll go from there."
Dace Richardson now has early offers from Illinois, Iowa, Northwestern, Purdue, Wisconsin, and now Kentucky.
