MISSION VIEJO, Calif. - Jonathan Perkins continues to land major offers and a recent one definitely captured his attention.

LSU is one of the latest schools to offer the three-star linebacker from San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon and it’s another big one for him.

“It’s huge,” Perkins said at the recent Under Armour Camp. “(Assistant coach Dave Aranda) hit me up on Twitter. It was random. He followed me on Twitter and then he texted me and told me he wanted to talk to me. We talked and he said he wanted to extend the offer.

“They told me they would like me to come out there. It’s a big offer and it’s exciting to be on their board.”

Shortly after landing an offer from LSU, Perkins picked up Auburn. Louisville offered on Wednesday. Texas, TCU and now Georgia are showing more interest in the San Bernardino Cajon standout.

With more than 20 offers, Perkins said two programs are especially standing out and a Big 12 powerhouse is especially looking strong early on in his recruitment.

“Oklahoma and Oregon right now,” Perkins said.

“The program at Oklahoma fits everything I do and when I was up there on the visit it felt like home. The coaches kept it real with everything. They didn’t fake anything. It actually felt like home.”

A decision is not expected soon. The three-star linebacker said he’s in no rush.

“I’m just going to wait it out and commit later,” Perkins said.
