SEC offer intrigues Moore

LAS VEGAS - L.J. Moore was talking a little bit with Georgia but never expected an offer so early.
When one came on Friday the Fresno (Calif.) Central East safety was shocked - and excited to learn more about the SEC program.

"It's huge," Moore said Saturday at the New Level Athletics Elite 7 on 7 at UNLV. "It was a surprise. I called coach (Scott) Lakatos and he told me they were interested in me and asked if I would consider them and he offered. It's great.
"I never thought Georgia would offer. I was hearing from them a little bit but I never thought they would offer.
"When they did, that definitely sparked interest. I've always watched Georgia on TV and I know Georgia is a good program. I have to look at them now that they offered me."
Cal, UCLA, Washington and Notre Dame have been Moore's favorites but after Georgia offered the four-star said the Bulldogs will definitely be considered.
Since so much is happening in his recruitment, the Fresno Central East standout said he's open to considering other programs. Georgia will definitely get a close look.
"I think I'm opening it up a little bit more than the top four or five just to see what happens as I go through this process with all the 7-on-7s and camps coming up," Moore said. "We'll see where my recruitment goes after all that."
Rated as the No. 17 safety and No. 223 prospect in the 2013 class by Rivals.com, Moore said other schools are talking to him and he could pick up even more offers. Arizona, Fresno State and Tulane recently offered and Colorado and Utah are getting more involved.
In total, Moore lists offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Eastern Michigan, Fresno State, Georgia, Houston, Notre Dame, Tulane, UCLA, UNLV and Washington.
