SEC offer intrigues Meeks

Quenton Meeks recently took a trip to Vanderbilt, landed a new offer and now the San Diego (Calif.) Del Norte recruit who's originally from the Atlanta area has a lot more to consider.
"We took a trip up to Nashville and they decided to offer," Meeks said.

"It was really important for me to get that offer especially with them being in the SEC, the best conference, and also being closer to family and everything. It was a good fit for me. I felt very at home there. We'll see what happens here. That was a very good pick up for me."
The four-star defensive back said prior to the Vanderbilt offer that if the Commodores offered they would move into his top list along with UCLA and Stanford. Plenty of others could also make the cut but Meeks said those three for sure would make it through his upcoming trim.
"I'm probably going to narrow the list down pretty soon in the next week or two," Meeks said.
"I'm going to talk to the family and everything especially my dad (Ron) since he's a (NFL) coach he knows a lot about it. I'm going to get a lot of information on all the schools before I narrow it down and go from there."
The next steps are still being figured out by Meeks, who is hearing more from Georgia and Purdue as his recruitment continues.
So far, the San Diego Del Norte recruit has been offered by Arizona State, Boston College, Cal, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Vanderbilt, Washington and Washington State.
"I do want to take official visits but I honestly don't know when I'm going to make my decision," Meeks said. "I don't want to wait to make my decision but I'm still not sure on a lot of factors. Hopefully I can take some officials, one or two, but I probably won't take all five."
