SEC offer for Thomas

Aldine, Texas quarterback Darron Thomas received big news this past week after receiving his first offer from Northwestern in February.
The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder had a phone conversation with LSU coach Les Miles this week and found out that the Tigers would be his second offer. Thomas says that the news has shaken up his favorites list.

"I talked with coach Miles and he said they're sending the offer to my coach," Thomas said. "Coach Miles just told me that they liked me, liked my attitude, and wanted me to keep my grades up. He said hopefully I can come down for a visit."
The offer was big for Thomas for more reasons than one. A big reason for his excitement was that he has family in the Baton Rouge area.
"Yeah, my mom's sisters, my grandma, and grandfather live there," Thomas said. "So, that's good for me."
Currently, LSU has taken the lead but other such as Texas A&M, Northwestern, and others are in the race.
"Out of everybody, LSU is up there," Thomas said. "I grew up watching them and that's been my team the longest. I was excited when I got to talk with coach Miles. They said they're recruiting me as a quarterback. They mentioned some other positions, but they said they want to start me at quarterback."
Kansas State is another school that Thomas says he plans to visit along with LSU either in the spring or summer. Though he's not ready to make a decision right now, Thomas says that he'd like to decide somewhat earlier than others because of his plans for a December graduation.
"I'm going to do some camps this summer, like LSU," Thomas said. "I'm going to visit Kansas State but I'm not sure. I have to kind of focus on visits now since I'm graduating in December. I think I'll make a decision at the beginning of the season."
