SEC offer comes in for Bourbon

Potosi, Mo., running back Brandon Bourbon already has an impressive scholarship list that includes Big 12 powers Kansas and Missouri. However, the 6-foot-2, 205-pounder branched out to the SEC with a scholarship offer from Vanderbilt on Wednesday.
"On my way to the NIKE Camp a few weekends ago, my father and I stopped by Vanderbilt and ended up getting a full tour of everything," Bourbon said. "Coach Caldwell stopped by today and told my coach I had an offer. It was really cool because he was really excited about it.

"He said they were coming after me hard, so I better strap it on."
BYU, Stanford and Harvard have also offered Bourbon a scholarship, along with the offers from the Jayhawks and Tigers. While many assume the local offers might be tough to pass up, don't write off Vandy quite yet.
"Oh, it's right up there," Bourbon said. "Nashville was a very clean and nice city. I just liked everything I saw up there. I wasn't sure an offer was coming, but I'm really glad it did.
"The academics are another plus. My visit was cool because it was just me getting the special treatment and getting to see everything going on through the locked doors and stuff. I got into the stadium even though there was a concert being set up."
As a junior, Bourbon rushed for around 2,400 yards and 29 touchdowns. He's being recruited as a running back by most schools, but he also could easily project as an athlete.
