SEC attention for Carolina ATH

Five-star defensive end DaQuan Bowers isn't the only legitimate Division I-A prospect at Bamberg (S.C.) Bamberg-Erhardt in the Class of 2008.
Athlete Chris Pressley, the team's quarterback for part of the 2006 season, has emerged and could be receiving scholarship offers from a couple of Southeastern Conference programs in the near future.

"Everything is going pretty well," Pressley said. "I'm going to (South) Carolina's camp on Wednesday through Friday and then I am going up to Vanderbilt on June 10. I've been talking to South Carolina and Vanderbilt mostly."
Shane Beamer is recruiting the 6-foot-4, 175-pound Pressley for the Gamecocks.
"He came by my school to check on me, but I didn't get to talk to him," Pressley said. "I hear a lot of good things about South Carolina. I haven't really been up there, but I like them a lot. Coach Beamer tells me about playing wide receiver for them."
Vanderbilt offensive coordinator Ted Cain is recruiting Pressley for the Commodores.
"They've also been talking to me about playing wide receiver," Pressley said. "They are excited about me possibly coming up there. I really like Vanderbilt, too. It's in Nashville, in the middle of the big city so who knows, I may like that."
Even if the Commodores or Gamecocks extend a scholarship offer to Pressley, he doesn't anticipate making an early decision.
"I'll probably wait it out until during my football season," he said.
Pressley talked about potentially playing wide receiver in college.
"I can run, so I guess that would be all right," he said. "I can catch, too. This year, my high school is probably going to put me at wide receiver on certain plays. It would be all right to play that position."
