Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian wide receiver Jared Cornelius has seen his offer list grow over the last few months. Houston, San Diego State, Tulsa, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Louisiana Tech have each joined the mix.
It is still early in the process the 6-foot-1, 185-pound receiver, but there are a few schools standing out as he looks at his current options.
"Arkansas, San Diego State is really nice. They throw the heck out of the ball. Tulsa also does the same thing," Cornelius said. "I think those would be my top three."
Of his top three, one school does have a bit of an advantage at this point.
"Arkansas is still at the top," Cornelius said. "It's really just the SEC. I think the SEC will prepare me better for the next level."
In addition to being in the SEC, there are a few more things about the Razorback program that caught his attention.
"They think I'm going to be an impact player and also think I can get some playing time early. That's always important," Cornelius said. "And coach Smith seems like a real cool dude. And Judah Jones who is at Kansas State was recruited by coach Smith. I've seen him around a couple of times and he seems like a cool dude."
Another SEC program has also began to step up its interest.
"LSU is showing more interest," Cornelius said. "Coach Ensminger has been messaging me on Facebook and trying to stay in touch with me. I'm also going to one of their camps this July."
The attention from LSU has certainly piqued his interest, and he hopes to leave an impression when he camps in Baton Rouge later in July. In addition to the Tiger's camp he plans to attend Arkansas' July camp. He also hopes to visit San Diego State and Tulsa in the near future.
As for a decision, he is taking his time right now.
"Right now I'm trying to wait it out until I can see what all I have and then I can make my decision from there," Cornelius said. "So maybe mid-year or the end of the season."
