SDSU Lands Talented Cali DL

Lancaster (Calif.) Paraclete defensive lineman Brian Wilson visited San Diego State this past weekend and had such a good time on the visit, he committed to the Aztecs before heading home.
"It was awesome, I loved it there," Wilson said. "The area and the campus itself is so nice, I can't imagine a better location. That and the coaches was really the main thing that put them over the top. The coaches were so great to me that I had to ask the players on the team if that's how they really are and they all said it is. I wanted to make sure they weren’t just being so nice because they wanted me to come there but the players said they’re sincere and a great group of guys.

“I was thinking about committing a lot and talked about it with my parents. At first, I was going to hold off but then they came back and said, ‘Brian this is your decision, if you want to commit, go ahead,’ and I did. I play inside and outside in high school but they were recruiting me to play defensive tackle which is where I think I’ll be best at because of my strength. It’s a good fit and I’m very excited about my decision.”
Wilson, 6-2, 265 pounds had earlier visited Nebraska and had a January visit to Fresno State which he said he’ll cancel.
“I’m not one of those guys who gives their word and then looks around still,” Wilson said. “It’s going to be tough telling these other schools who were recruiting me that I’m going somewhere else but it’s something I have to do.”
