Scranton makes the call

Arkansas made a late run at Buford, Ga., defensive end Aaron Scranton and it appears to have paid off.
“I called (Arkansas assistant Mike) Markuson and committed,” Scranton, who is 6-foot-5 and 230 pounds, said. “Then I called the other coaches recruiting me and told them I was going to Arkansas.

“It feels great to get it over with.”
Georgia Tech was the front runner for Scranton until Arkansas offered him a scholarship last month. Scranton and his family quickly booked a flight to Arkansas for Jan. 25.
“There were lots of things that I liked,” Scranton said. “They have great facilities and different studies ... they’re more than just Engineering.
“I mainly liked the kind of football they played and I really like the coaches.”
