Scott lands his first offer

Woodbridge (Va.) Forest Park athlete Brandon Scott has landed his first offer. The 6-foot-5, 225-pounder has also found a new position moving from wide receiver to defensive end.
"I sent out film last week and Duke, Connecticut, Boston College, Ohio and Elon got it," he said. "Elon liked it and offered me on Friday.

"I'm hoping to hear back from Boston College and Connecticut soon."
Scott has also been in touch with Richmond, Vanderbilt and Northwestern.
Does he favor anybody?
"I'll probably not wait until the end of the season," he said. "I have such a great relationship with Elon if a lot of other schools don't come in I'll go there. I love it there.
"When I started the recruiting process I didn't think like I should have. I wanted a big-time football program. I wasn't thinking as much about academics, now I am and I want a great academic school. That's what I want first and foremost."
What is he looking for in a college?
"I'm in between things, I want to do advertising or marketing, something in the entertainment field," he stated. "I want a degree in communications. I also really want to feel at home. I want somewhere where everybody is close knit. The first thing I'll ask every school is what is the graduation rate. I also would rather stay out of Virginia. I've been here for a long time and want to get away a bit, North Carolina or Boston College would be far enough."
After starting to pick up defensive end last year, Scott has made a full transition this fall.
"I do still play receiver and tight end and have about 15 catches for 150-yards," he said. "I have about 20 solo tackles and five sacks on defense.
"I was inexperienced on defense last year. This year I've done great. Schools tell me they love my film and like how I play with my hands. They think I'm a good rusher."
