Scott has clear favorite

Wide receiver Brandon Scott is patiently waiting for his first scholarship offer to arrive and he's taking some initiative in trying to attend camps whenever possible. He just returned from a trip north and has a clear favorite.
"I went to a Maryland one-day camp this past Thursday and on Friday I went to the Penn State camp," Scott recalled. "They were pretty good. Maryland actually worked me out at outside linebacker because that's what they're recruiting me as. I haven't played that position in a year or two. They said they liked me and how I ran in the open field, and that's what they're looking for. They just wanted to see me run in person. I should be hearing from them later in the week.

"The Penn State camp went really, really good. They're recruiting me as a receiver. I worked out a little bit as a tight end for them, especially when we got to the 7-on-7's. I did good and ran some good routes. They were giving me some corrections on stuff here and there but I think I did pretty good. They were just trying to see how fast I am in person.
"With me getting hurt last year and my film getting cut short, they needed to see that. I'm supposed to hear from them sometime between Wednesday and Friday."
Scott was planning on attending one-day camps at Boston College and Syracuse but now does not anticipate on making those trips. He was confident Syracuse would offer if he made it to the camp, but he isn't giving up hope yet.
"Everything really depends on what happens with Maryland and Penn State," he explained. "Penn State is my number one school. It really depends on what they tell me.
"Something could happen with (Penn State) but I don't even want to think too much about it. It depends on what happens with them. If it doesn't work out with Penn State I'll probably just wait until about halfway through the season when schools have a chance to watch a couple of games worth of film."
