Schools monitoring Ringos academics

Jackson (Miss.) Forest Hill defensive tackle Christian Ringo has racked up a few offers, but is hoping to see three big in-state schools eventually pull the trigger on him.
"Schools that have offered are Memphis, Northwestern State, Jackson State, Arkansas Pine Bluff," Ringo said. "Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Southern Miss are showing interest."
Ringo, a member of the Mississippi squad at the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, said that all three of the major in-state schools are on the verge of offering but that he first has to satisfy a common request.
"They want to wait until I qualify before they offer me, but they want to offer me," Ringo said. "That is what they are telling me."
In order to academically qualify, Ringo must earn a necessary ACT score.
At this point, Ringo has taken a pair of visits to two of the three main in-state schools.
"I have taken a couple of visits, but not official visits," Ringo said. "I visited Ole Miss and Mississippi State."
The 6-foot-2, 270-pound defensive lineman talked a bit about his time in Oxford.
"It was the best place in Mississippi as far as facilities and all of that," Ringo said. "They have real nice facilities."
As for Starkville, he admits to enjoying that a bit more.
"I love it there," Ringo said. "I like the atmosphere on gameday. I just like everything about it there. It is beautiful."
At this point, Dan Mullen's Bulldogs are on top for his services. With an offer, a commitment may not be far off.
"I would like to go to (Mississippi) State," Ringo said. "I just love gameday there. I love it there. It is like home."
Ringo said that Mississippi State assistant coach Greg Knox has been his primary recruiter for the Bulldogs.
"He just told me he is really concerned and really wants me to get this ACT score," Ringo said. "He wants me to play for them."
In January, Ringo plans to take official visits to Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and possibly Southern Miss.
