Schools eye Independence DT

Charlotte (N.C.) Independence is a major power in the mid-Atlantic. The school features a handful of prospects to watch in the 2009 recruiting class including 6-foot-0, 277-pound defensive tackle Kortne Briggs.
"I have a lot of letters from North Carolina, Rutgers and North Carolina A&T are the main ones," he said. "I might take a visit sometime soon to North Carolina. I already have been there twice last season."

Does Briggs like any colleges?
"I like Rutgers and UNC," he stated. "My cousin went as a student to Rutgers and I've always wanted to go to UNC.
"I just want a good football program. That's the big thing for me."
Playing for Independence, Briggs is used to winning football games and would like that to continue in college. However, he's open to any school that is recruiting him.
"I'd have no problem trying to help re-build a program as well," he said. "I just want a chance to play at a high level and show what I can do."
