Lochlin Deeks doesn't have any offers yet but the Salem (Ore.) West Salem strong-side defensive end is hearing good things from Oregon and Boise State with some other programs showing interest as well.
The Ducks are the most involved with Deeks, a 6-foot-3, 241-pound prospect who said LSU is sending the most mail and UCLA isn't far behind. But Oregon assistant coach Steve Greatwood has been in close touch and the Ducks want to see him work out at summer camp.
Deeks is taking that as a positive sign.
"(Greatwood) told me they were still watching me and that they wanted me to come to some camps in the summer so they could look at me," Deeks said.
"One of my coaches played for Oregon and he told me about Greatwood and he said he's a great guy. Meeting him a couple times I could see he's a really cool guy and he's easy to talk to. It's cool for them to come to my school."
Deeks has talked with Oregon the most but Boise State has also been involved and Deeks, who looked good at last spring's Eugene NIKE Camp, said he's definitely interested in hearing more from the Broncos.
"I didn't get to talk to them too much, they were talking more to my coaches, but they've been doing well and I wouldn't mind going there, either," Deeks said.
LSU and UCLA are also in Deeks' top four schools that are showing the most interest. He said in recent months that Florida State, Notre Dame and Miami have also been in touch.
Without any offers, Deeks said he's motivated heading into the spring and summer camp schedule so programs could take an even closer look at him. He hopes to maybe pick up some offers after that.
"It's really cool to know these schools are watching me and hoping I do well so that's really motivating," Deeks said.
