Schools backing off Georgia DT

After hearing consistently on the phone and in the mail from teams like Louisville, Minnesota, Ole Miss and several other Division I schools, two-star defensive tackle Reginald Thomas (6-1, 285) is starting to get a little concerned.

“I don’t know what’s happened,” he said. “Right before Christmas, they just seemed to stop calling and stop writing. I just qualified last week, so hopefully that’ll bring out more teams than before. I’m just wondering if they’re not calling me because it was the bowl season and they were down there at the clinic.”

That could be a reason, indeed. But at this point, Thomas of Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside only has a visit lined up with a small private school there in Atlanta.

“That’s it for now,” he said. “Maybe that’ll change soon. We’ll just have to see.”
