Schools are starting to eye LB Lapinsky

Linebacker Marek Lapinsky out of Pittsburgh (Pa.) North Allegheny had an impressive junior season that saw him post 120 tackles including 46 solos. The solid year has resulted in the 6-foot-0, 220-pounder getting mail from a handful of colleges.
"He's getting a lot of interest from the MAC schools right now including Akron, Miami (Ohio), Ohio, Toledo, Temple and even some from Pittsburgh," North Allegheny head coach Art Walker said. "I think schools interest in him is going to depend on how he does next year."

At 6-foot-0, Lapinsky is a little bit undersized to be a college linebacker.
"He is not necessarily the prototype Division I player with his size and height," he said. "He is a tough kid and a good hitter though. He has been a great leader on our team for three years and is a team captain. Marek is the type of kid that'll show up at game time. He also has good grades."
Lapinsky also plays high school baseball. Is he looking to pursue that in college at all?
"He plays baseball and enjoys it, but I think he is definitely going to play football at the next level."
