Scholies rise for Bishop McDevitt CB

Harrisburg (Pa.) Bishop McDevitt cornerback Mike Jones is adding more offers as the May evaluation period moves on. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder believes he's got over a half dozen scholarships.
"I think I have around seven right now," he said. "Akron offered me, Iowa offered, I've got ones from Syracuse Virginia and Miami (Ohio) too. I'm not sure on the others, but I know Pittsburgh is very close."

Over the weekend, Jones participated in the Penn State Nike Camp.
"I thought I did well," he stated. "I played as a corner instead of a running back like I did last year. I think I showed the coaches that I can play both sides of the ball in college and was particularly good in press coverage. It was a good camp with some great players. There was some solid competition."
With quite a few offers in hand, does Jones have any leaders?
"Not really," he said. "I'm just keeping my options open and talking to the same schools.
"I'm looking for a school I have something to fall back on in case football doesn't work out. Location doesn't really matter, but I want a place my family can at least get to. I'm also not worried about my position, I just want to go somewhere I can play even if it is special teams my first year."
The Keystone State prospect plans to head to a few camps this summer.
"I'm going to West Virginia on June 9th. I might go to Syracuse and Notre Dame for one day camps too."
