Schofield camps with Stanford

Ethan Schofield might not yet hold any scholarship offers but the 2017 offensive lineman camped with various schools this summer and left an impression on quite a few coaches.
The 6-foot-5, 260-pound offensive tackle from Alpin (Utah) Lone Peak made Stanford his latest stop over the weekend, attending the Cardinal's big Friday Night Lights event.

"Really, it was a blast," Schofield said. "They told me they liked how fast my feet were in pass protection, and in run blocking they want me to stay lower. They want to get a closer look at me during the season and at camp next year.
"Coach Lance Anderson is the one recruiting me and he invited me to camp during the spring. I really like him, even though he coaches the defense. I've also talked to Mike Bloomgren, the position coach. I really like Stanford. It would be in my top three for sure if they offered."
A couple other Pac-12 programs, Oregon and Utah, also impressed Schofield this offseason.
"Oregon is probably recruiting me the hardest along with BYU," Schofield said. "Coach (Steve) Greatwood recruits me for Oregon and he has told me they want to wait until the season to see some junior film, and that's fine with me.
"I know I have to prove myself. It's why I was at camps this summer trying to pick up interest. When the season starts, it's all about the game and I'm looking to put up big numbers as far as pancakes go."
With the Utes, Schofield said he's already eyeing several home games that he would like to get out to. He also camped with Oregon State and a couple other in-state schools this year.
"I went to BYU, Utah State and Southern Utah," Schofield said. "I was also able to participate at the All-Poly Camp in front of more coaches, so hopefully all that competition helps with the upcoming season."
